It's a hormone, not a vitamin. Your body makes less than 1mg a night, and most products give you 5 to 10.
Long-term data on high doses of melatonin is thin. And what's on the label isn't always what's in the bottle.
Calm Nights uses L-Tryptophan and Vitamin B6 instead, the building blocks your body uses to make its own.
88% of melatonin gummies tested had the wrong dose on the label. Some had 347% of what the label said. One had no melatonin in it at all, just CBD. JAMA, 2023
Many labels hide their doses behind a "proprietary blend," so you never know how much of anything you're getting.
Even when a label lists the dose, most don't tell you how much of the active compound is in it, the part of the plant that does the work.
Take chamomile. Ours is a 10:1 extract standardized to 1.2% apigenin, and both numbers are on our label. A lot of labels don't list either one.
We couldn't find a third option, so we built one.
Hours awake and a nightstand full of bottles that never worked.
$25,000 and more than 100 versions later, we got the formula right.

I track my sleep with WHOOP and since starting Calm Nights my deep sleep has gone from 45 minutes to over 90. I wake up before my alarm now. I did not think some capsules can do that.
I'm one of those who tracks their sleep score and normally I get around low to mid 70s but I've been taking Calm Nights for 2 weeks now and I've hit the high 80/90 range!
I run up to 50 miles a week and hit the gym six days a week, so sleep and recovery are huge for me. I took two before bed, woke up and checked my Whoop. Greatest sleep quality I've had in a very, very long time. I thought it was a coincidence. Second night, same thing.
